Privacy Policy

Net Closet is built on a simple principle: your data belongs to you, stays on your device, and is never seen by us.

Effective: 13 May 2025 Updated: 13 May 2026 Version: Beta 0.2 Jurisdiction: EU / GDPR

We do not collect your data.

Everything you enter into Net Closet — items, photos, prices, buyer details — is stored on your own device and, if you choose, in your own iCloud account. We have no servers, no database, and no way to see your information. Ever.

The short version

📱

On your device

All inventory data lives in Apple's SwiftData on your iPhone or iPad.

☁️

Your iCloud

If you enable sync, it goes to your own iCloud account — not ours.

🚫

Not us

We have no backend, no database, and no ability to see your data.

Net Closet works like a sophisticated notebook on your phone. When you log a price or add a photo, it goes into your device's storage — not ours. We built the app; we are not the custodians of your data. The only exception is if you contact us directly by email — see Section 4.

1

Your data stays on your device

Every field you fill in — item titles, prices, buyer details, photos, tracking numbers, financial figures — is saved locally using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data is:

  • Private to your device. iOS sandboxes each app's storage so other apps cannot access it.
  • Encrypted at rest. iOS encrypts app storage with hardware-level encryption when your device is locked.
  • Never transmitted to us. Net Closet makes no network requests to any server we operate. There is no cloud of ours.
  • Yours to delete. Delete items individually, use Settings → Clear All Items, or uninstall the app to remove all local data.
Plain terms: Net Closet works identically offline or online. Your financial data, buyer details, and photos never leave your device on our account.
2

iCloud sync — your account, not ours

If signed into iCloud, Net Closet can optionally sync your inventory across your Apple devices via Apple's CloudKit. Here is how that works:

  • Your iCloud, not ours. Synced data is stored in your personal iCloud account under your Apple ID. We have no CloudKit dashboard and no access to it.
  • We cannot see it. CloudKit's private database is visible only to the iCloud account that owns it — yours. Developers have no access to a user's private container.
  • Apple acts as processor. iCloud sync is governed by Apple's privacy policy and their GDPR-compliant data processing agreements.
  • Turn it off anytime. Go to iPhone Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Net Closet and toggle off. Your data stays on-device.
  • Settings also sync. Shop name, currency, tax year type, and PayPal username sync via Apple's NSUbiquitousKeyValueStore — also part of your iCloud.

Whether iCloud sync is on or off makes no difference to our ability to see your data. Either way: we see nothing.

3

Camera & photos

Photos are entirely optional. Net Closet requests iOS permission before accessing your camera or photo library — you can decline without losing any other feature.

  • Camera. Photos taken in the app are stored in Net Closet's local storage only — not added to your Camera Roll.
  • Photo library. iOS presents its standard picker. Net Closet only receives the specific images you choose — not your whole library.
  • We never receive your photos. Photos are stored on-device (and in your iCloud if sync is active).
  • No image analysis. We do not scan, analyse, or run AI processing on your photos.
  • Revoke anytime. iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera or Photos.

What we do receive

There is one narrow circumstance in which we receive personal data from you:

Support emails

If you use "Report a Bug" or "Request a Feature" in Settings, your email client opens pre-filled with a message to dev@netcloset.app. If you send it, we receive your email address, your message, and the device/version info in the template. We use this only to respond to your query. We will not contact you for any other reason, and we do not add you to any list or database.

That is the complete list. Outside of emails you proactively send us, we receive no data from you, about you, or from your device.
5

Apple's role

Net Closet is distributed through the Apple App Store. Apple independently collects data through its platform services — the App Store, TestFlight, and iCloud — under Apple's Privacy Policy. We receive only aggregated, anonymised download statistics with no personal information. Crash reports, if you have opted into diagnostics sharing, contain only technical stack traces — no personal data.

6

Your rights under GDPR

As a user in the EEA, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation. Because we hold almost none of your personal data, most rights are exercised directly in the app — not by contacting us.

Access (Art. 15)

All your data is visible in the app. Export a full CSV via Settings → Export CSV.

Rectification (Art. 16)

Edit any field on any item at any time — changes save instantly.

Delete items by swiping, or use Settings → Clear All Items. Uninstalling removes all local data.

Portability (Art. 20)

Export your full inventory as a structured CSV file via Settings → Export CSV.

Restrict Processing (Art. 18)

Disable iCloud sync via iPhone Settings → iCloud → Net Closet.

Object (Art. 21)

Email dev@netcloset.app. We respond within 30 days.

Withdraw Consent

Revoke camera or photo permissions via iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security.

Complain (Art. 77)

Contact your national supervisory authority (details below).

Supervisory authorities

Please contact us at dev@netcloset.app first — we aim to resolve any concern directly and quickly.

7

Children

Net Closet is a business and financial tool for adults. It is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly receive personal data from children. Because all data stays on the user's own device and we receive none of it, we have no mechanism to verify user ages. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising their children's device use.

8

Security

Security is handled primarily by iOS and Apple's infrastructure, which is appropriate given that your data never reaches us:

  • iOS encryption. SwiftData storage is encrypted at rest when your device is locked.
  • App sandbox. iOS prevents other apps from reading Net Closet's storage.
  • CloudKit encryption. Data synced via iCloud is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest by Apple.
  • Biometric lock. An optional Face ID / Touch ID lock is available in Settings → Security — protecting your financial data even from someone with access to your unlocked device.
  • No passwords or payment data. Net Closet never asks for or stores passwords, bank details, or card information.
9

Policy changes

We will update this policy if features change how data is handled or if legal requirements change. The "Updated" date above always reflects the current version. Material changes will be communicated through the app on first launch after an update and in the App Store release notes.
